Shipping Supervisor

Department: Shipping Night

Reports To: Shipping Manager

Location: Salinas, CA & Yuma, AZ

Pay: $75,600 + DOE


SUMMARY: Provides professional customer service to both internal and external customers by executing tasks, measurements, and shipments in a timely manner. Responsible for all daily functions, reporting, rotation, and service within the cooler.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Shipping Manager in establishing processes and procedures for the Shipping Department.

  • Conduct safety training for all shipping personnel.

  • Complete daily inspection reports (e.g., dock doors, racks, forklifts).

  • Maintain customer service for all customers with courtesy and professionalism at all times.

  • Oversee shipping personnel schedules and overtime, including lunches and breaks.

  • Maintain cold room organization and general warehousing.

  • Maintain a properly rotated warehouse using FIFO.

  • Reduce or eliminate finished product dumps.

  • Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring all safety features are in place throughout the warehouse.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience required.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and a good working knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications. Experience and proficiency in database software is a plus.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrates a strong team-oriented mindset and a willingness to exceed assigned responsibilities to support team objectives.

  • Exhibits natural intellectual curiosity and strong mental stamina.

  • Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information in a manner that is easily understood across all departments.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Able to travel as required

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

  • Famous software knowledge a plus

WORK ENVIORNMENT:

  • Routine exposure to a cold and wet manufacturing environment (34–36°F), the smell of chlorine and/or other industrial chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, heavy machinery, forklift traffic, and loud noise.
