Logistics Coordinator

Reports to: Logistics Manager

Pay Range: $22+

Job Site: Salinas, CA


GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for developing logistics plans and procedures to ensure internal and client needs are met. Enhances product workflow by analyzing and developing logistics plans that affect production, distribution, and inventory. Creates and reviews procedures for distribution and inventory management to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize cost.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build confirmations
  • Dispatch drivers
  • Schedule appointments
  • Assist Logistics Manager as needed
  • Invoice orders
  • Verify freight is entered prior to invoicing 
  • Approve carrier invoices
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies

 

  • Coordinate with accounting staff on freight invoices
  • Assist in claims resolution
  • Check calls.
  • Track loads
  • Maintain/Update spreadsheet
  • Communicate truck locations 
  • Communicate problems during time of loading or enroute
  • Handle rejections
  • Other function/duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Valid California Driver License
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Ability to perform computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division correctly; Solve practical problems by choosing appropriately from a variety of mathematical techniques such as formulas and percentages

  • Work onsite and meet position’s attendance schedule, as required by the job.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. 
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. 

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

  • Excellent communicator, both verbal and written
  • Ability to efficiently present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees, clients and customers of the organization. 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work occasional Saturdays and evenings
