Location: Gonzales, CA
Travel: Occasional travel throughout San Benito and Monterey Counties.
Pay Range: $80K + DOE
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The Master pack Demand Planner is responsible for analyzing packaging inventory to assess effectiveness, maintaining accurate inventory levels, and resolving inventory-related issues. This role is also directly involved in placing purchase orders for direct materials and reporting on current, obsolete, and aged packaging and produce inventory.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Independently analyze the inventory and determine the quantity to order, ensuring the inventory is turning at the appropriate rate.
Leverage Tableau to monitor and analyze packaging item usage trends.
Partner with production teams to conduct regular process verification reviews, ensuring SOPs are consistently followed and identifying areas of improvement.
Develop a thorough understanding of vendor supply chain operations and production processes to anticipate and manage order lead times.
Hold weekly vendor meetings to review and confirm that proper inventory levels are being maintained.
Create purchase orders and oversee the purchase order process.
Ensure all orders have been received correctly.
Work with inventory team to ensure FIFO usage of inventory to mitigate liability due to aged material.
Maintain and update vendor database and contact information.
Reconcile master pack inventories weekly, and at month-end for financials and pricing verification.
Prepare ad hoc reports on aged and obsolete materials for the VP of Procurement.
Work with Finance and Suppliers to resolve PO quantity and pricing issues.
Support Vice President of Packaging Procurement and Director of Packaging Materials by providing analytical insights, coordinating cross-functional projects, and executing procurement operational initiatives.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Minimum 2 to 5 years’ experience in purchasing, accounting or supply chain.
Experience in production planning required.
Bachelor’s degree (B.A) from four-year college or university preferred but not required.
High School Diploma required.
Proficient in MS Office, intermediate Excel, PowerPoint, accounting and invoicing.
Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Availability to respond to calls after hours and on weekends as needed.
Flexibility to work occasional Saturdays and evenings as required by operational needs.
Solid numerical aptitude, with the ability to apply mathematical techniques—including formulas and percentages—to solve practical business problems.
Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet required attendance schedules.
Ability to interpret and execute instructions provided in written, verbal, or diagram form.
Analytical and solutions-oriented, with the ability to identify and resolve operational issues efficiently.
Proficient in reading and writing professional correspondence, including memos, emails, and reports.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to build lasting relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.

Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with a focus on clarity, professionalism, and teamwork.
