HR Supervisor

Pay Range: $85k + DOE


GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: 

The HR Supervisor is an operational HR leader responsible for supporting the execution of HR programs and providing day-to-day guidance to HR staff and operational leaders. This role is highly engaged in daily HR activities including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, leave administration, and compliance.

This is not a desk-only role. The HR Supervisor will maintain strong visibility in the processing facilities, ensuring employees and supervisors receive timely HR support.

The HR Supervisor works closely with HR leadership and operations management to ensure consistent application of policies, compliance with labor regulations, and alignment with company goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise daily HR operations and provide guidance to HR coordinators, assistants, or administrative staff.

  • Support consistent and compliant HR service delivery across supported locations.

  • Assist HR leadership in implementing HR programs, policies, and procedures.

  • Maintain strong field presence in processing operations to support employees and supervisors.

  • Support employee relations matters including coaching, corrective actions, conflict resolution, and investigations under the direction of HR leadership.

  • Ensure proper documentation and consistent application of policies and labor agreements.

  • Partner with operations leadership to address workforce concerns in a timely and professional manner.

  • Support recruitment and workforce planning efforts, including coordination of hiring events, interviews, and onboarding activities.

  • Oversee onboarding logistics and assist with orientation sessions for new employees.

  • Ensure HRIS data accuracy and proper maintenance of employee records.

  • Assist in administration of leave programs including FMLA, CFRA, ADA accommodations, and related leave processes based on Company policy and Company Bargaining Agreement.

  • Monitor compliance with employment laws and company policies and Company Bargaining Agreement.

  • Ensure proper tracking and documentation of employee relations, leaves, and personnel files.

  • Deliver HR training, assist with policy communication, and reinforce compliance standards across supported locations

  • Oversee Daily schedule notices for Union employees

  • Support HR leadership with audits, reporting, and regulatory compliance initiatives.

  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve HR processes, workflows, and employee experience.

  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and HR experience.

  • Minimum 3 years of HR operations experience, with emphasis on Employee Relations and investigations.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR compliance requirements.

  • Experience advising managers on corrective action and policy interpretation.

  • Experience supporting operational or facilities coordination preferred.

  • Work onsite and meet position’s attendance schedule, as required by the job.

  • Available to work long hours, including after hours and weekends as needed.

  • Availability through black-out periods (no time-off) during peak transition.

  • Excellent documentation and report-writing ability.

  • Ability to assess risk and make sound recommendations.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

  • Coaching and mentorship capability

  • Ability to manage sensitive matters with professionalism and objectivity

  • Advanced investigative, analytical, and risk assessment capability

  • Executive-level documentation and formal case summary preparation

  • Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.

  • Leadership presence, executive communication and ability to influence operational managers

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, excellent time management skills, self-motivated, attention to detail and accuracy, ability to multitask, great organizational skills, excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Able to work in a respectful and professional manner with all levels of employees.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.  

  • Ability to efficiently present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees, clients, and customers of the organization.

  • Excellent time management and communication skills (written and oral)
