GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: 

The Financial Analyst I supports accounting and operations by analyzing financial and operational data, maintaining performance metrics, and preparing reports used for operational and financial decision-making. This position assists in monitoring financial performance, identifying trends, and providing insights that improve operational efficiency and profitability. This role will work with multiple data sources to support reporting, forecasting, product costing, and operational analysis across company operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial and Operational Reporting

  • Prepare and distribute recurring financial and operational performance reports for management and operations teams.

  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production and financial performance.

  • Analyze operational metrics such as labor costs, production yields, efficiencies, and overall production performance.

  • Monitor financial and operational results, identify variances, and communicate trends to management.

Financial Analysis and Planning

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning through financial and operational analysis.

  • Perform financial modeling and analysis to support operational and financial decision-making.

  • Maintain and assist with product costing models and cost analysis related to products, customers, and commodities.

  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and reporting to support management initiatives and operational improvements.

Inventory and Cost Monitoring

  • Assist with inventory monitoring and reconciliation processes.

  • Analyze packaging materials, operational shrink, and other production cost drivers.

  • Monitor operational cost metrics including utilities, materials, and maintenance expenses.

Accounting Support

  • Assist with monthly and periodic close processes including journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.

  • Perform account reconciliations, including bank and cash reconciliations as needed.

  • Support payroll-related accounting processes and other routine accounting activities.

Operational Data Integrity

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of operational and production data used in financial reporting and analysis.

  • Prepare and review reports related to production activity and resource utilization across facilities.

Special Projects and Capital Tracking

  • Support special projects and financial analysis requested by management.

  • Assist with tracking capital expenditures and operational investment projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field preferred.

  • 0–2 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or related field.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

  • Famous software knowledge strongly preferred

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook); Advanced Excel skills preferred (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).

  • Ability to interpret financial and operational data and communicate insights effectively.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Perform computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division correctly; solve practical problems by choosing appropriately from a variety of mathematical techniques such as formulas and percentages.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
