Pay Range: $19.50-$22.50


GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: 

The Truck Driver position is responsible for equipment transportation, as well as delivering produce and material to and from the field to the Distribution Center/Carton Yard.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drivers are required to comply with Federal and State requirements of commercial driver activities including: recording driver’s duty status, driver’s recording on/off duty, driving, or sleeping, etcetera.

  • Complete pre-inspection and post-inspection for each route and notify maintenance personnel if repairs are needed. Each inspection is approximately 30 minutes. Inspection sheets are to be turned into the office after each trip is completed.

  • The ability to drive Single Axle Tractor Trucks with Gross Vehicle Weight Ratings of 65,000 lbs. and/or Double Axle Tractor Trucks with Gross Vehicle Weight Ratings of 80,000 lbs.

  • Ensure product is loaded correctly and securely for transportation.

  • Deliver loads on time and contact dispatcher if a delay is foreseeable.

  • Ensure that all load sheets are completed correctly.

  • Must ensure that the truck they are operating is operating properly each day by testing brakes, tires and other components.

  • Drivers must be attentive to traffic and weather conditions while staying on schedule and ensuring the safety of all passengers.

  • Must complete daily drivers’ logs, maintain tracking devices, and follow all Company policies; safety, food safety and quality procedures, protocols and policies.

  • The ability to join two trailers by an axle, this axle must be lifted to join both trailers and my weigh between 25-35 lbs.

  • All drivers are prohibited from performing any/all non-driving duties including but not limited to spending worktime doing non-driver work, such as forklift operation, or other work conducted by agriculture operations (Ag ops) personnel.

  • All drivers must be available work weekends.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/ OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and have maintained a valid CDL for at least three (3) years, in accordance with company insurance requirements. Exceptions may be considered on a case-by case basis, where permitted by law, and must be approved in writing by the Company.

English Language Proficiency Requirement:

This position requires English language proficiency as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) for commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers under 49 CFR § 391.11(b)(2). The driver must be able to read and speak English sufficiently to:

  • Communicate with the public, law enforcement, and safety officials.

  • Understand and respond to official inquiries and instructions.

  • Read and understand traffic signs and signals (including highway/roadway signage)

  • Complete required reports and records (including logs, shipping documents, incident reports, and safety documentation)

  • Follow written company policies, procedures, and dispatch instructions provided in English

  • Drivers must maintain this English language proficiency as a condition of employment. Reasonable workplace support may be provided consistent with business needs and legal requirements.

Rehired employees are subject to the same pre-employment and onboarding requirements as new hires, including documentation verification and compliance review, regardless of prior employment history.

Readiness to Work:

Employees are expected to report to orientation and work assignments fully prepared, including all required documentation and certifications. Attendance alone does not constitute readiness to work.

Ongoing Compliance:

Employees must maintain all required licenses, endorsements, and certifications throughout employment. Any lapse may result in removal from driving duties.

Compliance & Policy Acknowledgment:

Employees must comply with all company policies, DOT regulations, and applicable state and federal laws. Failure to meet or maintain required qualifications or documentation may result in removal from duty or termination.
