Pay Range: $19.50-$22.50
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The Floater Bus Driver is responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation for CB Harvesting, LLC employees. This position is temporary and full-time, with the possibility of assignment to specific crews, which will change the title to Bus Driver. The Floater Bus Driver must be available to cover routes as needed and must adapt to schedule and work assignment changes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drive the bus safely and responsibly on assigned routes when a bus driver is out
Perform daily vehicle inspections to ensure it is in proper working condition.
Report any mechanical or maintenance issues to the Maintenance/ Transportation Manager.
Ensure all passengers comply with safety regulations during transportation.
Assist passengers in boarding and disembarking the bus safely.
Maintain order and proper conduct of passengers during the trip.
Follow the schedule of assigned routes and ensure timely pick-up and drop-off of employees.
Keep the bus clean and orderly at all times.
Perform safety checks and preventive maintenance as needed.
Record and report any incidents or accidents to the Maintenance/Transportation Manager.
Take buses, trucks, or company vehicles to be serviced
Assist in maintaining a clean shop
Assist in Reviewing all logs, and documentation including time sheets, maintenance reports and inspection records.
Assist in maintaining accurate records of routes and schedules covered.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/ OR EXPERIENCE:
Must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and have maintained a valid CDL for at least three (3) years, in accordance with company insurance requirements. Exceptions may be considered on a case-by case basis, where permitted by law, and must be approved in writing by the Company.
Previous experience driving buses or commercial vehicles.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to bus operation.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work flexibly and adapt to schedule and work assignment changes.
Good physical condition and ability to assist passengers in boarding and disembarking the bus.
Outdoor work with exposure to various weather conditions.
Variable hours, including weekends and holidays.
Possibility of long driving hours and prolonged periods of sitting.
English Language Proficiency Requirement:
This position requires English language proficiency as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) for commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers under 49 CFR § 391.11(b)(2). The driver must be able to read and speak English sufficiently to:
Communicate with the public, law enforcement, and safety officials.
Understand and respond to official inquiries and instructions.
Read and understand traffic signs and signals (including highway/roadway signage)
Complete required reports and records (including logs, shipping documents, incident reports, and safety documentation)
Follow written company policies, procedures, and dispatch instructions provided in English
Drivers must maintain this English language proficiency as a condition of employment. Reasonable workplace support may be provided consistent with business needs and legal requirements.

Readiness to Work:
Employees are expected to report to orientation and work assignments fully prepared, including all required documentation and certifications. Attendance alone does not constitute readiness to work.
Ongoing Compliance:
Employees must maintain all required licenses, endorsements, and certifications throughout employment. Any lapse may result in removal from driving duties.
Compliance & Policy Acknowledgment:
Employees must comply with all company policies, DOT regulations, and applicable state and federal laws. Failure to meet or maintain required qualifications or documentation may result in removal from duty or termination.
