Reports to: Facility Food Safety & Quality Director
Pay Range: $22+
Job Site: San Juan Bautista, CA with periodic travel to Salinas, CA and relocation to Yuma, AZ
Relocation: This position is required to relocate to Yuma, AZ for 5 months every year (Mid-November through Mid-April). The remainder of the year, this position will be based out of San Juan Bautista, CA.
SUMMARY: The Sample Coordinator will assist with the sample assembly program for the San Juan Bautista, Yuma and Salinas facilities. Additional assistance with ad hoc projects will be a recurring part of duties for this role. This role will travel seasonally to ensure consistent program management year round.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gather samples and pre-stage large truckload samples in coordination with Shipping and Warehousing
- Collect sample requests from the sample portal
- Enter orders in to Famous
- Create UPS labels, coordinate sample pick-up and track shipments to communicate to sample requestors
- Communicate with regional and local Sales & Marketing team on samples
- Package samples
- Label samples
- Maintain inventory of packaging materials (ice packs, cartons, UPS sleeves, bubble wrap, etc.), coordinate orders with packaging procurement team
- Ensure high quality product samples are sent, accurately and on time
- Support preparation of sales and marketing materials in sample boxes as directed by Sales & Marketing department
- Facilitate all samples shipping to all customers as directed
- Prepare in advance sample requests to ensure the product will be available the day needed
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Valid Driver’s License and minimum 3 years of driving experience required
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work to be performed in varied environments: indoors in a climate controlled environment, refrigerated cooler production facility, shipping and receiving warehouse, and outdoors in varied weather as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged sitting and terminal use.
- Flexibility to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time as needed.
- May be required to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
