Receiving Supervisor

Reports To: Warehouse Manager

Location: Gonzales, CA

Pay: $73,000 Annually


GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: 

The Receiving Supervisor works in a warehouse environment and ensures that all received items are handled efficiently and accurately. Responsibilities include supervising receiving operations, training employees, assigning duties, developing work procedures, maintaining a clean and organized receiving area, and implementing record-keeping procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly supervises and coordinates all activities related to incoming products and materials.

  • Works as a hands-on Supervisor alongside receiving personnel.

  • Assist Crew Lead on duty

  • Ensures all incoming materials are accurately accounted for and properly entered into the system.

  • Inspects incoming products for quality and notes any shipping damage.

  • Oversees product placement within the warehouse and material handling activities.

  • Ensures compliance with safety and operational guidelines.

  • Collaborates with other Supervisory Staff to assign, direct, review, and monitor work to maximize productivity.

  • Establishes and monitors employee work schedules to meet business needs.

  • Recommends improvements to reduce costs and drive productivity within the department.

  • Analyzes and resolves work-related issues or assists employees in problem-solving.

  • Monitors daily and end-of-month cycle counts.

  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Agricultural/Processing industry experience preferred.

  • Ability to analyze data and implement process improvements.

  • Strong multitasking skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in agriculture, manufacturing, or processing facility preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Windows operating systems.

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) — must be able to read, write, and speak at an advanced level in both languages.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with peers and union personnel to execute job responsibilities.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to build trust with diverse employee groups.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and documentation accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a team-oriented approach.

  • Demonstrated discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and peak seasonal schedules as required.
