Senior Maintenance Technician

Location: Gonzales, CA

Pay Range: $25 per hour +DOE 


SUMMARY: 

The Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring all plant equipment, machinery, and facility systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably to support continuous production operations.

This position plays a key role in minimizing downtime through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and process improvement initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Quality Assurance & Food Safety Oversight

  • Conduct routine maintenance, diagnose technical issues, and perform repairs to minimize downtime.

  • Oversee the installation and configuration of hardware, software, or specialized equipment, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and protocols.

  • Maintain accurate records of technical procedures, system configurations, maintenance logs, and troubleshooting steps.

  • Ensure all technical work meets quality standards and safety regulations

  • Design and implement process enhancements to improve system efficiency, reliability, and performance.

  • Take the lead on escalated technical issues, providing expert guidance and solutions.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and innovations.

  • Work with other departments to ensure project execution and technical support.

  • Maintain records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections performed on equipment. 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance technician experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of industrial maintenance practices.

  • Experience troubleshooting and programming PLCs and VFDs preferred.

  • Knowledge of electrical systems, motors, controls, conveyors, pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems and maintenance recordkeeping.
