Grower Accounting Technician

Location: San Juan Bautista, CA
Pay Range: $22.00/hour +DOE
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Under the direction of the Grower Accounting Manager, the Grower Accounting Technician is responsible for preparing various reports, payments, account reconciliation, and month-end close duties.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Backup for daily KOI reports
Verify daily raw product receipts for accuracy: verify weights, # totes received, average weights per tote, pallet, vendor, grower block and harvester, and tare weight
Price out purchase orders according to contracts
Enter harvesting and cooling charges as necessary
Update the planting schedules on a weekly basis (assign lot numbers) and enter lots in the system
Send updated planting schedules to harvesters and growers
Report raw product receipts information to harvesters and growers daily
Report and authorize payment to the AZ Dept. of Ag and to the Leafy Green assoc.
Resolve any weight issues
Liaise with growers and harvesters
Maintain master files for crops and lots
Prepare and verify billing reports
Review yield and yield roll up reports for accuracy
Maintain and distribute weekly pound report by grower
Obtain and review payables statements from all growers at month end
Purchase match all payments to growers in accounts payable
File daily receiving documents
Prepare and report monthly lb. report to CA Leafy Green Assoc.
Code CA Leafy Green Numbers by commodity and voucher in the system
Prepare a monthly cooling reclassify report, prepare, and enter a journal entry
Prepare a monthly report of all incoming raw product pounds and cost/lb. by commodity and type
Maintain product varieties in TLF Crop cost center
Verify that all receiving from previous day have block ID’s assigned to them.
Maintain generic Famous P.O’s used for raw product receipts
Create Salinas Valley/Imperial Valley/Yuma Pricing Sheets and distribute
Create OP blocks from outside purchases under TLF blocks.
Process check run for grower payable
Enter freight charges as necessary
Conduct tare test for new containers
Report Daily rejection (if any) to growers
EDUCATION AND/ OR EXPERIENCE:
Associates degree (A. A.) and/or two years related experience and training in ag industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Famous software knowledge strongly preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook) preferred
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Ability to read and interpret documents such labor laws and procedure manuals.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Consistently maintains reliable attendance and on-time arrival, especially during peak operational months with special focus on attendance during October, November, March, and April to meet seasonal operational demands.
Be prepared to adjust schedules as needed during peak periods to ensure smooth workflow and support team goals.
Maintain clear communication regarding any schedule changes or unexpected absences to minimize disruptions.
Ability to perform computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division correctly; Solve practical problems by choosing appropriately from a variety of mathematical techniques such as formulas and percentages.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Demonstrates strong time management skills, with a focus on prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
Skilled in delivering high-quality customer service and interacting effectively with others.
Able to maintain accuracy and attention to detail in all work, producing thorough and reliable results.
