Starting Rate: $22+
Job Site: Salinas, CA
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: This position is responsible providing support to the retail sales department with a focus on the coordination of sales orders and maintaining effective communication on status of orders between sales team and customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process sales orders, manual key and various electronic platforms
- Check order list for no-show trucks, and update sales team
- Assist with customer complaints, rejections, and prorates
- Assist with commodity management (SOI) on retail items such as on-hand availability, item shortages, age of product etc.
- Assist sales members with pending orders and/or appt. challenges
- Ability to ship and invoice EDI orders to customers, and manually send passings from Famous
- Research payment and receiving discrepancies in addition to assisting with file reconciliation (including disputes in customer portals)
- Assist in pulling data and compiling reports from both customer and internal platforms
- Engage with customers to offer support regarding new and/or pending orders
- Support sales team with responses to customers, and other duties as assigned
- Provide back up support for sales team members as needed or when on vacation
- Other function/duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or four years’ experience in a produce sales office; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with Famous software a plus but not required
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
SKILLED AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ambitious self-starter with excellent problem solving skills
- Candidate must be highly organized and detail oriented
- Candidate must be team oriented and also able to work independently
- Strong verbal and communication skills are essential
