Reports To: Shipping Supervisor
Summary of Responsibilities:
The shipping loader is responsible the loading of all trucks accurately and on a timely matter
Be able to handle multiple tasks on a daily basis.
Must make sure that the truck inspection is done and the sheet is filled in properly and entirely BEFORE you start loading.
Make sure that they position the ICC restraint bar accordingly before they enter the trailer
Make sure they communicate with the driver on loading instructions.
Fill out any necessary information on pick ticket, which includes how many pallets, location, missing product and who authorized any subs or cuts.
Fill out “staging” schematic where all pallet tags are entered.
Must fill out trailer schematic for pallet positions
Communicate to Manager or Expeditor on any missing product
Turn in paperwork accurately to dispatcher
Must wait for dispatcher to verify load.
Must wait for next order before anything else
Communicate safety and mechanical problems as they arise.
Fill out daily forklift inspection reports
Must be able to follow instructions, procedures and company policies.
Able to load 300 case an hour average (minimal)
Must be able to work 12 hour shifts 5 to 6 days a week.
Be honest and work in a team based environment.
Must be courteous to all our customers (Truck Drivers)
Must adhere to all GMP practices.
Must be forklift certified on a 3 year basis.
Ability to lift and carry objects 30-65 lbs. a distance of 20 ft. or greater.
Tolerate standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, twisting and carrying objects for at least 8-10 hours a day.
Work around people and moving machinery
Cold atmosphere due to refrigeration units
Wet surfaces due to water on floor.
Noise due to all moving traffic by lifts.
