Imagination Farms Announces
Western Vegetable and Fresh Cut Vegetable Agreement
Imagination
Farms has furthered its mission to increase the consumption of fresh
produce among children by announcing signed agreements with Church
Brothers, LLC, and True Leaf Farms, LLC, both located in Salinas.
Church Brothers will supply Disney Garden commodity vegetables from
its operations while True Leaf will supply Disney Garden bagged
vegetables, bagged salads, and unique vegetable products designed
for children. The companies expect to begin shipping Disney Garden
products in the first quarter of 2007.
According to Matthew Caito, CEO of Imagination Farms, “Our
agreements with Church Brothers and True Leaf further Imagination
Farms’ mission to increase the consumption of fresh fruits and
vegetables among children. Their teams embrace and are passionate
about our mission and they are committed to providing high quality
vegetable products.”
Tom Church, President of Church Brothers said, “Both Church Brothers
and True Leaf are looking forward to getting these new products to
market. We have worked extensively with Disney and Imagination Farms
and their culinary team to create vegetable products and
combinations that are unique and that will appeal to children. We
feel that working with Disney will raise the level of visibility for
these items to get more children and families to increase their
consumption of vegetables.”
Disney Garden vegetables will feature Disney characters and a
comprehensive promotion strategy that is designed to get children to
learn more about good nutrition and fresh produce at the company’s
web site,
www.imagination-farms.com. The vegetable line will be supported
through on-going sweepstakes through the web site.
The Disney Garden bagged vegetable and salad program will feature
Disney characters and will be aimed at young eaters from school-age
through ‘tween’ years. The brand will provide vegetable and salad
solutions for time-starved children and their parents. According to
Caito, “We’re working to replace chips and less healthy alternatives
with vegetables for snack time. Parents will be excited by our
products.”
Disney Garden vegetables will be available directly from the Church
Brothers Sales Office in Salinas. The companies expect to have the
first Disney Garden vegetables in market late in the first quarter
of 2007.
Church Brothers and True Leaf will join other Disney Garden
suppliers Ito Packing (stone fruit), Four Star Produce (grapes),
Crunch Pak (sliced apples), Sunwest (California citrus), Progreso
Produce (pumpkins and watermelons), Carousel Candy (caramel apples),
L&M Northwest (apples), and Chelan Fresh (apples).
